hi,

after the internet session with my isp has finished (5hrs)
i've set the computer to reconnect automatically after the
1 minute blah blah but it won't reconnect even though the
box is check to do so. after ringing the isp they said i
had to turn the computer off and on and then reconnect,
only that will fix the issue. i reckon thats a load of
rubbish but i haven't been able to find a problem or a fix
so any help would be appreciated

thanx

If the reason is that the INTERNAL modem is HUNG and will not RESET then
YES, you will have to reboot the PC to RESET the modem.

Are you using a firewall? If so I had a similar problem.
Check the settings for your NIC. On a McAfee firewall
there is a DHCP tab. Make sure the "Allow DHCP" box is
checked. Rebooting the computer will allow a connection
because that occurs before the firewall starts. A
suggestion and I hope it helped.
