computer wont boot up

grrr genius hubby dusted computer(inside) and now wont
boot properly system turns on and monitor has power
however keyboard lights ..nope... and weird msg on monitor
saying "Check signal cable".. whaaaaaat? everything
connected properly and secure im confused..anyone have
theory or solution ..(other than keep inept hubby away
from computer) lol ty

Has some of that dust been blown into the cable connectors, causing the
video card/monitor cable to have a partial connection?
 
Hubby obviously bumped something and loosened it. Now you have to check all
connecting cables, plug-in cards etc.
