Hi,
I don't know why my computer suddently shut down itself, is it likely to be
hardware problem or software problem? only if I run certain software will
have such a problem, not every single program. Whenever I run that program
for ~15 mins, it will have such a problem, is that mean that software
contains virus? Please help.

Adrian

Does it "bluescreen" or completely cut itselft off? If the later, think
likely powersupply -esp.if problem is worse under heavier use. Otherwise,
virus/scumware sounds likely.

It couls also be a virus. MS Blaster worm causes XP to shutdown if it
detects an Internet connection.

Actually, I am using windows 2000 advance server, i just thought that this
may be hardware problem so i post in this newsgroup.
There's no blue screen at all, just cut off itself.
So far i encounter such a problem with 2 programs. One is when I am playing
the old DOS game. The other is when I am using the Rosetta Stone software.
All other program seems to be fine, even I run the Nero burner, it seems to
use lots of power and cpu time, but there's no problem with the comptuer.
Is it likely to be Virus?

Thanks

Get an application like Lavalys Everest to check system tempretures.
