Hi!

Can anyone tell me what the problem might be and how I can fix it? My PC suddenly restarts for no reason and it gives out an error message. I looked into the details of the error and this is what I can see.

C:\DOCUME~1\Dianne\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERfe0e.dir00\Mini092406-02.dmp
C:\DOCUME~1\Dianne\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERfe0e.dir00\sysdata.xml

Everytime my computer restarts the same message reappears.

Thanks!

Right click My Computer and click on Properties/Advanced/Start Up & Recovery Settings and uncheck "Automatically Restart".

Then post the full text of the BSOD ;)

BSOD is 'Blue Screen Of Death' as in the error message that you get when the pc craches, You get a blue background with some text on it explaining what went wrong. :)

Hi, already did what you said. what's BSOD? is that the error message? sorry...
... as the previous posts have explained.

Now can you post the full text of the BSOD. :)

It might be worthwhile clearing out your Temp folder.
Also check Event Manager to see what faults are being reported.

Here's the whole mesasge of the BSOD

A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

If this is the first time you've seen this Stop Error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again follow these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is porperly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need.

If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Start-up options, and then select Safe mode.

Tecnhical Information:

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL Stop Errors ...

Possibly the most annoying Stop error that you will ever see, essentially is a memory error caused by a driver or piece of software that has caused an error accessing memory, It can also be caused by defective/unsupported hardware, so pretty much anything ...

When you get the stop error it will be accompanied by some information ...

Stop: 0x0000000A (parameter1, parameter2, parameter3, parameter4) IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL*** Address x has base at x - filename

The parameters refer to the specific issues that are involved:
Parameter 1 - An address that was referenced improperly
Parameter 2 - An IRQL that was required to access the memory
Parameter 3 - The type of access, where 0 is a read operation and 1 is a write operation
Parameter 4 - The address of the instruction that referenced memory in parameter 1

Make a note of the stop error ESPECIALLY the "filename" as this can point you to a defective driver or the software/hardware at the root of the problem. do a Google search on the "filename" To help you narrow it down.

ok i will check on it once it reappears and get back at you....thanks so much for the information... by the way, i have another problem to ask, if you can also care to answer it. My USB removable flash drive suddenly can't be read by my PC and any of my friends' laptops. It just gives out a message that says the device has malfucntioned. It's almost brand new, and I was able to use it twce or thrice. Do you know what the problem might be and how I can fix it? Thanks so much coz you've all been very helpful...

bienmargareth, you should realy start a new thread in the relevant section as you will get help quicker that way.
However right click on My Computer >Properties>Hardware>Device Manager and see what you have under Disk Drives.
