Recently bought a dell dimension c521, This really isnt a major problem, I
am trying to change the way my computer starts. I would like it to just start
up and be ready to go. The way it starts now is , you push power button and
screen comes up and aks who is logging on so you have to click on a name,
also when you go to shut down it asks what you want to do , either shutdown-
restart or hibernate, change users. I want to change this to just push power
on and you are ready to go.

For your first problem
==============

If your account has a password then Windows will always prompt you at Login
Screen. If you haven't any then after login Click Start - Run - type CONTROL
USERPASSWORDS2 and press Enter key. Select the user from the list you want to
auto login and uncheck the option "User must enter...."

For your second problem
================

Window will always ask you for the options when you click Start - Shutdown.
If you want a single click option then configure them through Power Options
of Control Panel. Click Advanced tab under Power Options and under Power
Buttons settings set the options as desire. The first option represent the
Power Button of your CPU. Pressing it will directly put you in the set mode.

The second option is for the Sleep Button on your Keyboard (if you have
any). Pressing that button will directly put your computer on the selected
mode like Hibernate, Standy, or Shutdown.

Hope this help, let us know!

open the lid I press the power button and I am ready to go.
