I have an older HP computer. It recently started shutting the power
down after being on for approx. 45 minutes or so. I first thought it
was over heating. Found that the power supply fan was no longer
working so replaced that. Now all the fans are working and the same
problem. All works flawlessly for 45 minutes or so then just powers
down. I cleaned the inside to the best of my ability, could this still
be a heat problem or something else?

Probably. What happens if you start it up again immediately, is
that possible and does it take another 45 mins to shut down again ?
or something else?

Yes. Its possible you've somehow managed to tell it to shutdown
on inactivity and it happens anyway, even when its still being used.

How old is old? I'm thinking Power Supply. I'm forever having to change
power supplies on older HP pavillions (late 1990s, early 2000nds), it's
a weak point in the system. Seems my shop is one of the few places you
can get (pre-owned) parts for these beasts OTC.
