Can anyone help me with this problem. A few weeks ago my computer started to just shut itself off by itself. Happens at random times (when idle, while typing, surfing the net, playing a game) and the computer just shuts off with the power light flashing yellow. Can get back on right away no problem and usually won't have another problem until the next day, sometimes longer, rarely get another shutdown on the same day.
I've checked for that msblast virus and don't have it. Downloaded the patch for it anyway, still happens. Followed some advice on turning the RPC service settings to "Take no Action" on failure and still get the shutdown.
Am at a total loss as to what could be causing this. Does not seem to be overheating, as I just spent a week without this happening until today when it started again. Updated drivers. Have done and checked just about everything and can't figure out what the heck is the problem here.
My specs are:
AMD Athlon 1.2 Ghz
Windows XP
GeForce2 GTS
SBLive
512MB DDR Ram
Firebird 0.7
Any help is appreciated as this is truly frustrating.
