Recently purchased HP T329FR furnished with Windows XP.
Upon connecting to my ADSL provider the hourglass remains
active, and within two minutes I get the message
(translated) "The system process C:\windows\system 32
\lsass.exe has stopped in an unexpected manner with status
code 1073741819. This stop was initiated by AUTHORITY
NT/SYSTEM." I then have approximately a one-minute
countdown before the computer shuts down. I used Windows
XP to return the system to it's status before installing
the internet provider's CD Rom, then re-installed. The
hourglass was not active after connection for about four
minutes, then I got the same message window, and the
computer shut down again. Is it a virus? Is it something
else? Do I need to resort to the recovery disk? Thanks for
a response. Richard
