computer shut down

my computer shuts down and reboots every now and then by
itself whether i'm online, playing a game offline
whatever. i get no error messages so i don't think it's a
software thing. any ideas anybody!!!

I could be bad ram, or the computer may be heating up

Click on Start and right click My Computer. Choose Properties.
Go to the Advanced tab. Find the startup and recovery section and click on settings.
Go to the system failure section and uncheck automatically restart. Click ok.
Now when the computer reboots it will display a blue screen error message. Post the technical details section of the blue screen.
