Anybody remember COMPUTER SHOPPER? Maybe USA only, it was a very thick
magazine full of computer product advertising. I just ran across their
website while looking for prices on a new flash drive. From the early
days of massive windowshopping.

My subscription just ran out. The current issues are little more than a
shadow of the original biblical editions. Current issues are more like
other PC magazines in size and coverage.

I was really disappointed by some of the magazines ratings of equipment,
for example they ranked a DELL or HP PC was better than non-DELL/HP PC
although that PC had more features, performed better and was just as easy
to upgrade as the DELL/HP. Go figure.

Yeah, I remember I used to read that all the time. It was quite
entertaining. All the systems advertised, that is. But that was in the
days of the Computer Shows (remember those?) and you could get better deals
at the shows, usually. I miss both Computer Shopper AND the Computer Shows.

OK, Yeah, I know that computer shows still exist, but they are really small
and hard to find now. And when you do find one, it's all really cheap junk,
nothing worth buying unless your ONLY goal is to save money. -Dave
