Computer restarting

Why does my computer keep restarting it self? It happens mostly when am
burning a cd/dvd or if am using photoshop or autocad. Please help.

There is no way any of us can give you a focused answer since you haven't
provided any information about your computer. Since the problem occurs when
you are using processor-intensive programs, I'd look first at whether your
computer is underpowered and/or overheating.

Two points:

1. You are presumably blue-screening, and you are set to reboot
whenever that happens. Right-click My Computer, and choose Properties.
On the Advanced tab, click Settings under Startup and Recovery. Under
System failure, uncheck the box "Automatically restart.

Now when the problem occurs again, instead of restarting, you will get
the blue screen with diagnostic information. Post back with those
details for more help.

2. This is much more likely to be a hardware problem than a Windows
one.
