I have a problem with my computer when I try printing
pictures with my HP DeskJet 722. When I hit print command
the printer begins printing, and then the whole computer
shuts down and reboots and I have to go back and select
the picture all over again and press print and it reboots.
Can anybody give me some suggestions on how I might fix
this problem.I'd very much appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks

Hi Dave,

I guess you are facing printer driver crash,
( this crash may be due to damage to kernel mode
components )

To check this Please goto
Open System in Control Panel.
On the Advanced tab, click Startup and Recovery, and under
System Failure,
choose which of the following actions Windows 2000 should
perform if a Stop error occurs:
Write an event to the system log specifies that event
information will be recorded in the system log.
Send an administrative alert specifies that your system
administrator will be notified.

Automatically reboot specifies that Windows 2000 will
automatically restart your computer.
**Disable this option to see which DLL caused the
problem.**
Note down the DLL name, if the same name is found in
WINNT\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\3
or WINNT\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\2 then printer
driver is causing the problem. Uninstall the printer.
clean the folder 3/2, Re-install the proper printer
driver. ( ex 2k driver for 2k only, not the NT driver on
2k )

HTH,
