Computer policy vs. User policy

Hi Everyone,

I have a bunch of computers that need to display a certain
desktop (to give users access to a certain site only).
However, the users that will be logging into these
machines are using a mandatory profile (since their main
terminals are elsewhere in the building).

If I apply a computer policy to these computers in
question, will the mandatory profile override that? Any
suggestions would be welcome. Thanks in advance!

Hi John

I would expect policy to override the mandatory profile but haven't had any
luck sourcing documentation that confirms this. Worth testing :)

Referring to:

http://www.microsoft.com/resources/...ocs/en-us/sag_UP_Create_Mandatory_Profile.asp

a.. Profile management should be done preferentially by policy. Mandatory
profile use, although permitted, is less manageable and more prone to create
administration problems, thus it is not recommended.

Have you considered using group policy to manage the environment for these
users and on the computers that require a specific difference, using policy
loopback?

Kind regards
