Does anyone have any idea of why when I join a computer
to my domain the machine does not show up under my
computer OU in Active Directory?

DNS is running so I'm puzzled at the moment.

Tony,

Have you pre-staged the computer account so that it might
show up someplace other than the default Computers
container? If you do a search for the computer account in
question is it found?

Also, what OS are you installing? Is this a WINNT,
WIN2000 or WINXP machine? Or is it a WIN9x/ME machine?

HTH,

Cary

To troubleshoot this issue it would be helpful to review the
winnt\debug\netsetup.log file on the client. This file will show the
process of the computer joining the domain. This may show you an error.
Look for the section beginning netPDoDomainJoin. Report any errors that you
find to the newsgroup
