My Dell computer refuses to read photos that have been
backed up using Roxio CD Creator. It seems to try to read
the content but reports zeros in bytes used etc. I'm
drawing a blank here in more ways than one. I have
experienced the same result when trying to access an old
data cd from a Windows ME computer. Is there a contection
here???

If you did not install Roxio on your XP machine you probably need to install
a UDF reader to read CDs made with Roxio on older systems.

Make a new folder on your C drive.
Name it UDF reader
Go to this site and download the UDF reader file in this UDF reader folder.
http://download.com.com/3000-2100-9497911.html
Once downloaded, open the folder and double click on the file to install it.
Reboot your computer.
You should now be able to read your old CDs.
A good idea once you can read the files from your old CD is to copy the
files from your old CDs back on your hard drive.
Then copy the files to a new CD using XP. You will now have new CDs readable
on any XP machines.

If you do install Roxio, make sure you have version 5.3 or above (they are
now on version 7).
