computer noise bleeds through audio out

Here is one for the books, and I hope anyone can help out
on this one. My machine has an ABIT VA6 motherboard (if
I recall?) with AC'97 onboard audio. Any computer
operation (e.g. accessing hard drive, CD-ROM Drive, any
normal processing that goes on) generates feedback noise
through the audio output and is transmitted through the
computer speakers. I would love to find a fix for this,
as it is driving me friggin batty hearing my computer
operate. Please help before I go insane...MAKE IT STOP
PLEEEEASE!

I saw this once in a computer that had one of those neat clear plastic
windows in the side. Metal is needed to reduce/eliminate the RF (radio
frequencies) produced by all electronic equipment. Moving the speaker away
from the side of the computer with the window eliminated the condition.
