Computer Name same and DC name

Our DC crashed. i was needing to know if i can rename a workstation to the
same name as the DC and not cause any problems. The workstation has all the
apps that the server had and i can continue to run until parts come for the
POS compaq. Thanks in Advance.

Don't do it that DC's account still exists in AD. You can do a so called
domain controller account hijacking, which could lead into big problems. You
must first do a metadata cleanup in your ad from that DC and then rename
workstation.
