I have 50 window XP workstations on a windows 2003 AD domain.
When I attempt to change the name on a workstation I receive the
authentication box as normal. I proved my domain administrator username and
password but receive the following error
The following error occurred attempting to rename the computer to test1
Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using
more than one user name, are not allowed. Disconnect all previous connections
to the server or shared resource and try again..
I have never seen this error when renaming a computer. I can rename the
computer if I use my current login username and password but only on my
workstation. I should be able to change the name of as many computers as I
need to with the domain administrator account. The default administrator
account has been disabled and a new account has been given domain permissions.
Any help on this issue is greatly appreciated.
