For the last few months, I have had problems with my computer freezing
randomly. I would be doing my homework or anything else and suddenly
it would just freeze. It sometimes occurs whether it be on for 1 or
more hours or being on for just 5 minutes. I tried following the
directions for this link:

http://ezinearticles.com/?Troubleshooting-Computer-Freeze-(Lockup)-Problems&id=39981
(Copy and Paste the Whole Link)

But nothing works. I was wondering if anyone could look at the things
on the link and possibly figure out what might be causing this.

(P.S. I even used the AntiVirus Program Trend Micro AntiVirus, but it
didn't detect and virus or any malicious programs) :crybaby:

First thing to do, is check your Event Viewer for any errors.

"The above steps will help diagnose and eliminate the most common causes of
lockups."

No, the most common cause by far is bad power supplies. Like, 95% or
better. -Dave

I'd also consider the possibility of overheating. Check the cpu fan, clean
out the case, maybe add a case fan, check that the power supply is blowing
hot air, check that the computer case is not in a hot environment like a
closed unit. One way to check on the latter is to put a cheap floor fan
(box fan) near the computer and blow air on the computer while in use. If
that keeps the computer rocking, then you know that it was overheating.
