Computer freezes

Computer freezes if I leave the computer idle for a while
and also when I use it (it seems that it freezes when I
do a sudden move with the cursor.

Hi Mike,
Freezes can be caused by many things. Usually it is an
application or file loading into memory that is not
releasing it. I'm assuming you're running Windows XP.
Next time you get a freeze, press ctrl, alt, del and look
at the task manager. if you do not see an application
that is "not responding", click the processes tab and see
if one particular process is hogging all the processor
time. If so, make note of the process name. You should
be able to find a reference to this process in the
Microsoft knowledgebase unless it is another application
that you have installed such as a specific mouse driver.
It may be something as simple as needing a driver
update. Hope this helps!
