computer freezes

Have a strange problem. I can browse and download pages, but after about 6
downloads, the X close tab doesn't work. I have experimented and discovered
that I can use Start and IE to get back into service, but PC freezes again
after a couple downloads. Only way to correct is to Restart. When I do this,
I usually get a window informing that one of the pages I visted didn't close.
I have to End Now and system goes into Restart. Anyone with a similar problem
and a fix. Appreciate your replies
 
usually when i have customers with a problem like this, I run
smithrem, (google search), adaware, spybot, and avg's anti spyware.. u
might be suprised with all u find... save mode is best with all of
them after they've been installed and updated
