Computer freezes

My computer "freezes up" quite often and the only thing I
can do is power off and restart. What could be causing
this and what can I do to repair it?
 
There are many things that could cause this, so without more info it is
impossible to give a good answer. If I was to make a guess I would say you
have drivers that need to be updated, starting with your video drivers.
