Computer freezes for no reason!

Hi, I am using WinXPpro, which i have just recently
installed over a fresh reformat of my hard drive, and so
far windows has frozen my computer about 8 times for NO
REASON! i will be listening to music and surfing and blam
stop, like it freezes completely without warning.

I have an AMD Athlon XP 2600, with 512 DDR ram

any and all help will be greatly appreciated! thanks :)

check your cooling fans, especially the one on the cpu

also get a temperature reading on the cpu and make sure it;s within spec.
