Computer freezes briefly (2-5 seconds)

If I leave my computer on for more than 24 hours - then
it begins to freeze briefly every minute or so.

I know I am supposed to turn the PC off regularly - but
can anyone help me understand the problem?
 
Sounds like a heat problem,
Remove the case and blow out the dust, especially the cooling fans.
