I hate windows "indexing" search POS and i found this program called
avafind. It indexed my 80gb hd in like 2 mins and its awesome. theres
a freeware version and a registered version. try out the freeware and
tell me what you think of it.

I use Ava Find (freeware version) regularly. Should have been
Pricelessware! It doesn't index the contents of your files, just the file
names and maybe some other info. But if you know even a part of your
filename, it will find it instantly.

If you want a freeware that indexes your file contents, you might try
Wilbur.

How is it on system resources?

good question. Just looking at Windows Task Manager, AvaFind.exe uses
4712KB memory, and CPU usage is usually 0, pops up to 1 or 2% occasionally.

Thanks. That's not too bad at all.
