Computer does`nt recognize divx

I have a trouble opening my video files with divx
program.If I right click the file,divx is not listed
in 'choose program 'menu.Even when I browse and choose
divx player it still does not come up and file opens with
previously selected program.All this happened when I
uninstalled and reinstalled the program.Is there some way
i can fix it?
