Hi All,
I just put a machine together with an ASRock K7S8XE motherboard. I have
downloaded and installed the latest bios update in hopes it would solve my
problem (it didn't)
The computer works fine until its time to reboot. When I reboot the
computer halts, there is power but no video signal and it doesn't appear
to be doing anything.
If I turn the computer off (sometimes I have to turn it off twice in a
row) then the computer will boot normally.
Even when just in the bios, when I make changes and it asks to 'Save and
Restart' when it reboots, it just freezes up.
Any ideas?
What other hardware do you have installed, mainly expansion cards?
Have you tried stripping the system down to bare minimum, no cards and no
drives since you can duplicate the problem rebooting from BIOS setup?
If you are not using integrated video you may want to find another card to
borrow for testing. A video card could be a very likely culprit.
Otherwise I'd have to point fingers at the motherboard.
