I am running Windows Xp, when i upgraded from ME to XP my
computer no longer automatically turns off. When i went
to my computer and i hit properties, my acpi was working
properly. When i went to Power options, i do not have
that tab. When i shut down, at the end i have a blue
screen that pops up, stating that i have an error and
something about the bios. If anyone can help me that
would be great! Thanks!

I wrote down what the blue screen says at the end,

"A problem has been detected & windows has been shut down
to prevent damage to your computer

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

stop:0x0000000a (0x000002d4, 0x000000FF, 0x00000000,
0x80523912)

Hi Jessica,

The above error occurs because of corrupt drivers or BIOS
failure....I would suggest you to first reinstall all the
system drivers and then upgrade BIOS....this will resolve
your issue
