i have windows XP and sometimes when i am on IE, and just
happen to move the mouse as you do...it freezes, nothing
(mouse/keyboard) works, i have to actually unplug it to
load it up again. ive also set hardware accelerations to
the minimum, and still the same problem.

any advice greatly appreciated !

I've had the same problem sometimes and I have not been able to find an
answer. My advice is to install some spyware and virus detection software on
your computer and to check it for these nasties on a regular basis. (Search
this forum for links to where you can download some)

There is however no need to unplug your computer each time you encounter the
problem. I'm not using XP but on most Win machines if you press the
CTRL+ALT+Del keys together a list of running tasks(programs) will be
displayed. Choose IExplore.exe from this list and press the End Task button.
On XP you may have to right click on your TaskBar to display this list.

I don't think your settings for Hardware Acceleration have anything to do
with so you may as well set them back to say a medium setting.

thanx for the reply rob, i will have to try spyware, i
cant access ctrl alt del when the comp crashes, the
keyboard and mouse just jam, and usually only ever on IE.

That suggests you have a driver issue. (E.g. mouse, video, etc.)

Try looking for updates to your drivers.

In any case the symptom is one better addressed in a newsgroup
which specializes in either your OS or your hardware.

BTW "crash" usually implies that you get some kind of diagnostic
for a terminal error. In your case, the only possible diagnostic
will be if you see something in your Event Viewer's logs (probably
the System log) just before you had to restart your machine.
