I have had this problem or some time now and it is
driving me crazy. I have a PC running XP on an Soyo S7
Dragon mother board with an Athlon 1.4 Ghz processor. The
computer randomly reboots at any given time. It does it
while I'm in the middle of browsing (IE) or word
processing or sometimes before it completes the boot
process. It has even rebooted during the POST. I suspect
the motherboard is faulty and it is 2 years on a 3-yr
warranty but I don't want to send it in without proof. I
can't find any driver conflicts. I've tried replacing and
adding memory. I changed the power supply. I've tried
pulling out all the extra devices plugged in. I haven't
the patience to research the "save dump" file. Any
suggestions?

Dave

As you suggest, there are tons of possible causes for this.
