I want to clean as in wash, dust, etc. the external parts of my computer what
soaps, or warm water...what's recommended?

Blow dust off with compressed air or vacuum. I use the new Mr. Clean Magic
Eraser http://www.homemadesimple.com/mrclean/index.shtml followed by a cloth
damped with plain water. I prefer not to spray cleaners onto a case. The
Magic Eraser (dampened as directed) works miracles to remove nearly all
marks. Keyboards, monitors etc. can be cleaned the same way.

I would add only that if you are to use any sprays, spray them on the cloth,
then use the cloth to apply it - do not spray directly on any system
components.
