Hi,
I've tried to install the DVD-Rom in my HP Celeron and cannot get the system
to recognize that at all. I tried to replace my old CD-Rom into the unit and
it works fine. I've played around with the BIOS and the master/slave
setting, but it doesn't work either. Can anyone give me some suggestion,
thx.

which maker and model of dvd-rom drive are you try to install?
what is symptom? (cannot see Drive on my computer? cannot play cd? or eles)
can you post more detail informations?

Hi,
It's the MSI D16 DVD-Rom, the system BIOS can't recognize my DVD-Rom, and
I open "my computer" and it can't see it either, so .... what else can I do?
Thx
Adrian

Have you tried the Firmware upgrade from Microstar ?
Make sure you get the right version as there are 2 for this model !!!

If it is unstable or unusable in XP it is worth a go, i had to flash both my
HP drives to work properly in 2000 and XP. This will also show if the
upgrade program can locate the drive at all !!

Have you contacted HP. The OEM version of XP is locked to the
original hardware, in most cases. There should be downloads on their
support pages.
