When I click on the "Get pic from camera or scanner"
button in My Pictures I get the message "Computer cannot
detect the scanner" Even tho the scanner a Canon
CanoScanN670U is listed in the Device Manager and on the
Control Panel. I can access it from other programs
like "Print Shop" and Adobe Photoshop. Any ideas?

That's baffling, PhotoShop has third party drivers that let you by pass your
scanners software that might allow you to capture from the scanner if the
twain driver wasn't installed for your scanners software, but I don't think
Print Shop does. I'm pretty sure it relies on your scanners default twain
driver. Unfortunately, just because your device shows up in your control
panel as a connected device, doesn't necessarily mean that the necessary
software drivers are properly installed for your programs to be able to
access it. Can you start up the scanner software and scan without the use
of any other programs on your computer?

Canon installs the TWAIN driver(s) and they are shown in Add/Remove
programs. Which drivers are shown? There might be two: one the WIA
driver, and possibly another as a Canon scanner application. What is
dispayed? Which TWAIN do you use in Photoshop? The WIA driver must be
installed for the Windows functions to work, AFIK. If there is no WIA
scanner driver, then install from the Canon CD.
