Since 3/31 I've been getting Fatal Error 3 notices on my automatic updates.
Manual updates the same. My program advises I'm good to go til 3/22/06. I'm
evaluating the 1 year free offer and have no license code to obtain CA
support. Anyone have ideas?

1. Download and install Avast!

I don't have a clue about Fatal Error 3, but I've go no problems with
updates. I go to 3-28-06. Why don't you uninstall and reinstall and see if
that fixes it.

He's got the free version...so no support.
I've emailed (e-mail address removed) before and got some assistance,
and I don't recall having to show that I'd bought the product.
Worth a try anyway.

Also, assuming version 7, I have no trouble getting to

The solution turned out to be simple. I'd been using Linux too long &
forgot the old adage - If it don't work - reboot! I've been closing the
lid & thereby putting my laptop into standby and rarely rebooting. It
takes a reboot between updates. Sorry for the commotion.
