I remember someone saying that in AD you can't have a
computer and a user with the same name. Since our users
and computers have the same names, I built a small NT
Domain test network with a couple of pcs that are named
exactly as the user. I then upgraded to AD and
everything seems to work fine. Was I just given some bad
info or will I start running into issues?

Thanks.

This was referred to, that you can not have the same computer name and user
name inside a organizational unit, as their LDAP path would be the same.
There is a QArticle on this http://support.microsoft.com/?id=310845, and the
possible problem lies in NetBIOS and not in AD.

We ran into a problem of the user accounts being locked out because the
computer account which was named the same as the user failed to renew its
account password or something.. i could see the failures in the event log
and then that user would be locked out. I went and changed the computer
names and the problem went away

Interesting. Computer accounts have $ at the end, so that they are
distinguished from normal user account.
