Computer Administrator problems

Hello

oddly enough, since a small personal error on Kazaa Lite which seemed to
have created a Trojan ( I believe it is now removed), the computer behaves
oddly from the Administrator account which is the main one. No longer can I
access Task Manager, and I noticed msconfig gives me an error which I deduct
is the source of it all: Computer administrator privileges are gone.
The odd thing is they are still enabled in the User Accounts.
Norton AntiVirus won't work as well now, but everything works right on my
brother's account which has full privileges too. His side lets NAV work
right and Task Manager works perfectly.

I am using WinXP Home.
If there need be for any additional info, please ask!

Thanks for any help

Hi there

I haven't tried that, but I'll try to see it.
Any tips on how to copy and get the most exact results from the new account?
Take into note the main one can affect my brother's when I do some changes
sometimes, but he can't do that to me. So I'd like an account which holds
the most privileges again.

Thanks in advance
Vic

Most privileges? As far as I know XP home has only two settings for
privileges: Administrator or limited. For the tips, I'd just copy the
files from the My Documents folder and the Favorites from your old account.
If you try to copy everything from one user account to a new one things get
messed up.

Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Computer Management, Users contains
additional users such as "User," "Power User," and "ASP.NET Machine." View
the "Groups" object for descriptions.

Type "mmc" at the Run command prompt to add snap-ins to your own Microsoft
Management Console.

Well, this is worse than I thought, a new user account also won't let Task
Manager load or msconfig, nor will Norton AV load or work!
And worse, my brother's account is now corrupted like this too.

Any ideas?
