TO all,
I ordered a 160GB HD a week ago. I just emailed them and then they tell me, "We are
working very hard to ship your order. Unfortunately, when items are
back-ordered we must rely on the manufacturer
to send them to us. We hope this helps you to understand why your order
has not shipped within the usual time frame."

SO then I go back on their website and now their selling a 200GB HD from Seagate. Why in
the hell are they selling a 200 when they cannot even fill out the order for the 160GB?

Their starting to piss me off. Let's see what the liars have to say when they reply to my
email.

Hmmmm, because they have 200GB part in stock but not 160GB?

Cancel the order and get over it.
If you don't want to shop there anymore, it's quite
understandable.

Why get pissed?
The CSRs don't give a hoot if you're upset, what can they do when
it's not in stock? They're not going to send you better parts
than you paid for. Look for a better deal and cancel order if
they haven't shipped by the time you find one.

That was the 160 gig deal for 49 or 59 after rebate - I was tempted to
go for that one myself. I went for a 80 gig for 39 two weeks ago but
returned it unopened cause I really didnt need it. HDs are so cheap
now you feel like getting one just for a spare for backups.

.. The "hot" deals sell out super fast. Though strangely enough in the
past they would sell out within one day of the sale , locally things
have lagged a bit and you can usually get almost anything even a few
days later in recent months. Thats probably why. The deal hunters
usually swarm like vultures onto rebate deals at websites and
in-store.

The good thing about Compusa is they do take rainchecks and will get
them in usually. Most other places are way way worse about that.

And when it comes to hard dsiks though that was a particularly good
hot deal - theres AWAYS another great HD deal if you wait around. This
week in fact is kind of weak. Compusa has been running weekly sales
instead of the usual , every two week sales like everyone else they
are taking advantage of the back to school spending sprees and running
sort of weak sales every week cause they know people are going to buy
anyway. The stores have been packed again even when there arent any
sales or really lame sales.

Dude, whenever there is so much as a HINT that an online order might be
backordered. CANCEL IT! Also, you'll do better not ordering from brick and
mortar stores. Best Buy for example took over 2 weeks to ship me a pack of
AA batteries. It's because they wait days before actually shipping the
product to you. They don't tell you when something is on backorder.

Online-only stores like newegg.com have ONE warehouse that ships direct to
you! They also have other warehouses they partner with as a backup just they
can get you the product that much faster. Newegg is known for low prices, no
tax for me at least, low shipping costs, and fast delivery. They quote me 3
days I get it in 1 and I live 3000 miles away from them.

I live 300 miles away from newegg.com and I get my goods the next
day. I once ordered from Amazon.com and it took three weeks to get
my goods (two DVD movies). Not me again never...

Yeah never buy when it reads "This item is on back-ordered."
unless you have two months or more to waste.
