When emailing photos from My Pictures folder, I used to right click on the
photo and a dialogue box would pop up asking if I wanted to make my pictures
smaller. That box no longer pops up and my pictures get sent in formats that
are too big for an email. Is there a way to get the dialogue box back?

Try this, maybe it will restore the option:

go to...Start / Run and type:

"REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL"
(without the quotes)(Yes, there's
a space between 2 and S)

Click...OK.

A dialog box should report the following:

"DllRegisterServer in SHIMGVW.DLL succeeded"

Click on Start and click on Run.
Type in the following in the opening textbox:
REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL
and press the Enter key.
Note that there is a space between ...32 and SHI...
This will take a second to run and you should get a "success" message. Then
try again and you should get the option to make the picture smaller.

Other ways to get your file smaller or exchange via e-mail are described
below.

Image Resizing

To decrease the size of the file for e-mail, web publishing, etc.

Go to this site and download the free Image Resizer. Exe file in one of your
folder.

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

Once in your folder, double click on it to install it.

Once installed, you right click on a photo file (or on a group of selected
photo files).

Click on Resize image on the opening menu.

A window will open, select the size you want.

New files will be added in your folder, same name as original file but with
the word (small) or (custom) added.

The first time you use it, you may not see Resize image on the opening menu
after you right click on a photo file or if you see it and click on it, it
may not work. If so, do the following:

Click on Run, click on Start and type the following in the textbox:

REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL

and press the Enter key.

Note that there is a space between ...32 and SHI.

You should get a "success" message after pressing the Enter key.

Also, you can download a free photo editing software from here to resize
pictures and edit photos:

http://irfanview.com/

or another free software:

www.faststone.org

From this last one, you can directly e-mail a picture and it will
automatically resize it.

Another free one to do the same is:

www.picasa.com

Picasa has a nice feature to exchange pictures with friends under "Hello"
