I can't find where to compress photos and graphics in Powerpoint 7
presentation to lower the byte size of presentation. Can you help? Thjis was
soo much easier in the previous PowerPoint version. BTW-I hate the new
version and I am/was a Powerpoint Ninja. You added some neat Photoshopie
features but made everything else so much harder.....Aaaaargh!!

PowerPoint 7.0 was included in Office 95 fifteen years ago... It, or
previous versions, had no tools for compressing images.

In PowerPoint 2007, pictures are automatically compressed when you save a
presentation. See this article for more info:
http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00862.htm

If you want to compress an individual pic (and change the compression
settings): select the picture, click the Picture Tools tab and you'll find
Compress Pictures in the upper left.

To change settings for the entire presentation: select Save As, then click
the Tools drop-down, Compress Pictures.

There are other compression tools available that do a better job retaining
image quality during compression. I prefer NX PowerLite:
