Compressing Files

I created an Excel workbook that contains macros. I had no problem sharing
these types when I used my old Win98SE machine running MS Office 2000
Professional.

Now, however, I share from MY XP machine with others on THEIR XP machines.
And I can't get them a copy that works. They claim the operating system
strips the macros or otherwise renders them useless. I used to use WinZip to
compress programs in "the old days" and skit these types of issues. Now I
see THAT program isn't free anymore. And I never hear anyone talk about it
either.

How do I get an Excel 2000 workbook containing macros to someone else using
the same ... via the internet?

Hi

Please try one of the Excel News Groups:

I don't know about your Excel problem, but the Zip facility is found in XP.
All you need to do is to bring up the Explorer to view your directories.
Right click on the subdirectory you want to zip, then pick the "SendTo"
option and chose "Compressed (Zip) Folder".

Good luck...
