Hello!!! I am having this problem. I'm
using Windows XP Home Ed. I try to create a compressed
(zipped) folder but when I clicked in the "File" "New" on
the menu bar, the "compressed (zipped) folder" is
missing. I can still open zipped files normally but I
can't create them. =( I tried system restore but it
didn't work. I don't want to do a reformatting because I
don't want to lose my files and my installed softwares. I
hope somebosy can help me with this. Thanks a lot...

You can only use compression for files and folders on
drives formatted as NTFS. If the Advanced button does
not appear, the file or folder you selected is not on an
NTFS drive.
