I was short of space in boot partition, so converted to
NTFS and compressed the entire contents. Now I have more space and wish to go back to FAT32. However, can't until all files uncompressed.

How to do this when - even in Safe Mode - access to zillions of compressed .dll .pf .exe files is denied?? I suppose they got compressed in the first place because they were created on installations that took place after their containing folder was marked for default
compression...

Once you convert a FAT32 drive to NTFS, you cannot convert back
to FAT32 unless you reformat or drive, or use a third-party utility
program such as Partition Magic 8.

Thanks for wonderfully quick response; but I know this, and have previously used Partition Magic 7 to convert from
uncompressed NTFS to FAT32. But when PM7 finds a
compressed file it refuses to complete the operation, so I
need a way of uncompressing ALL files on the partition
BEFORE running PMagic.

Whilst I suppose there must be a command-line thing like
the old DOS ATTRIB utility, there are zillions
of .dll .pf .exe scattered around (although most are in
\System32\ and if I miss just one of them PMagic will complain and stop...
