How do I compress a 38MB doc file containing many images, in order to email
it? Thank you

Not sure what version you are running, however if using 07, click on one of
the images and you will see a PICTURE TOOLS FORMAT tab. In the adjust
section, select Compress Pictures. If you want to apply to all pictures,
leave the check box blank. You can choose more options by clicking Options
button but by default it compresses it to smallest size for e-mail. I tested
with a 5.2MB file and it compressed to less than 900 KB.

Sure Zetta. Insert the picture and then right click on the picture itself.
Choose Format picture anda multi-tabbed dialog box will appear. On the
Picture tab, click on the Compress button. From there, fi you would like to
compress all pictures in the document, click on teh 2nd radial button. I
woulc also suggest changing the resolution to Web/Screen resolution. Click
OK. Once you are finished I would save the document under a different name
that way you can always revert to the origiinal if you do not like the
changes.

Thanks Nat, I found it , what you described .. it really works! Only that
from 38MB it was reduced to 20MB. again too big for email.. I think I will
have to break down the doc then. Thanks again

Nat, I've tried the web screen resolution and now it is just 6,50 MB! You
really are a great help today. take care, thanks

6.5mb is still too large for many e-mail systems and will make you very
unpopular if you mail it without first consulting the recipient.

Use file optimization software to reduce the size of word docs with images

Try using a piece of file optimization software such as NXPowerLite. You can download a free version here - www.neuxpower.com
