Runninf MS Ofice 2003 and XP Pro
Just finished loading up a new Dell w/ XP Pro, MS Office Pro 2003 and
transfered my outlook .pst, archive.pst and other Outlook folders from my old
machine to new. I also used the Office Settings wizard from old to new.

Opened up Outlook and pointed to outlook.pst file. All emails and contacts
came over and created 3 instances of Personal Folder (2 dupes and one non
functioning). Got rid of all but one of the valid ones. In my folder list I
have all my current emails, tasks and notes and various contact folders.
Problem is when I go to create an email and enter a contact it seems to point
to older subfolders in Contacts and not to the main Contacts folder. . If I
click to TO box SHOW NAMES FROM CONTACTS - there are no contacts displayed.
But my current contacts are in the Contacts folder (in the left pane). Any
help? Thanks in advance.

Thanks Russ, You are ALWAYS helpful.

I assume I should delete existing profile from the control panel and then
follow the help file?

Regards,

Lou

You transferred your data incorrectly and corrupted your profile. Never
import or overwrite a PST.
You must create a new profile. Then read the Help files on how to transfer
data correctly to the new profile:

Just be sure you create the new profile from scratch, not by copying the old
profile.
Once you have your new profile created you can delete your old if you want.
Just make sure you have all your mail account information before you do.
