Hello

I'm searching for a .net component library, developing WinForms application.
Which one would be suggested?

Thanks Chris

Hi Chris,

I have recently purchased Infragistics and found they are pretty good if you
do a lot of client side scripting, their CSOM(Client Side Object Model)
comes in very handy when using local javascript.

Get the VB.Net resource kit and you get the full ComponentOne Studio Suite
with the real versions of the Datagrid, MSFlex, print preview controls that
they built light versions of for Visual Studio. The kit gives you a full
deployment license for all of the real controls, Free, so you can decide
without calling it a "trial run". (the web controls have a 1cpu EULA but
not the Winforms controls). There are also some Infragistics components in
the kit.

Personally I've had much better support over the years with ComponentOne
(Apex/Videosoft) than Sheridan (infragistics) but everyone has their own
stories to tell ;-)

Hi,

But Infrajistics controls are a bit heavy, I mean they put wrappers around
the base controls, so they are a bit performance savvy. However, I'm using
the Winform controls.

I suggest you also check out Xceed: http://www.xceedsoft.com

They sell separate controls (Grid, Chart, SmartUI), but you can also
get them as a package.

Their Grid control is excellent, I've been using it for almost 2 years
now.
SmartUI is a set of controls (menubars, toolbars, all kinds of panels
and bars, treeviews, listboxes, buttons, ...) with different styles
(Windows Classic/XP, Office XP/2003), and great integration in VS.NET.

We picked Syncfusion's EssentialSuite after having looked at pretty
much all of the others we were aware of back in Feb 2003. We haven't
regretted our choice at all. The Essential Suite's components are
great in flexibility, in what they offer, and the support by
Syncfusion has been outstanding. No regrets here - Syncfusion's
EssentialSuite of components can be highly recommended without any
hesitation!
