Component-> Add Files AND Repository Source Path

Could someone tell me the difference between the two ?.

I am confused between Setting source path when I add files and setting
source path for the Repository.

When you Add files using Component -> Add Files - and set the source path
like
%11 and %24 . What does it mean ?. Am I telling CD where to pick up the
files are where to copy the files on the final image.

When you create a new Repository and set the source path. Am I telling TD
where to get the files ?.

Whats the difference between the two ?.
 
One more question. My zip file contains .inf, .sys, .exe, .DAT and many other
files. I know the inf goes to C:/Windows/inf and .sys goes to
C:/Windows/system32/drivers

How do I set the other file destination ? Can I set it to %24 ?. Do I have
to set it to %24 ?.
