Anyone else experiencing a complete slowdown w/4.1 ?
Right-click options are extremely slow, apps are slow to load, etc.

ONLY change is 4.1. I noticed the problems immediately after install and
reboot.

You mean 4.10?

Yes, 4.10. And I confirmed it w/3 other workstations, all 9800 XT Pro's. XP
SP2, P4 3.2E, 2GB RAM, etc. etc. etc. A complete uninstall of 4.10, reboot,
XP VGA detect, 4.9 reinstall, reboot, everything is back to normal.

This was also the version w/o the Control Center crap in it.

I noticed that some games would crash from time to time with the new Driver
Installed also, most noteably Call of Duty-United Offensive. I just
reinstalled 4.9 and everything is running well again

thanks for the warnings, no way I'm gonna install those drivers

I'm using a HIS 9600XT with the 4.10's and everything is running fine - in
fact I believe that there is actually a performance increase in the games
I've tested, including Call of Duty:UO. BTW, I didn't install the crappy
control centre thing - don't know if that makes a difference?

I bet it most definitely makes the difference.
Control Center is memory eating and crashing piece
of cr*p AFAIK and if it crashes/locks up etc. everyone
think that the drivers are crap.

Or perhaps these drivers are best on 9600-cards, using
9600pro here with 4.10's and no problems either.
I think I noticed a small performance increase in
Dawn of War... But I may as well imagine it :-)

The 4,10 drivers also crashed Call of Duty on my machine. I didn't bother
with the new Control Centre. Went back to 4.9s and everything is fine. First
time I've had an issue with an ATI driver for over a year. Radeon 9800XT.

Yes I also had the same problem when installing these new drivers!
OK, I've got an ooooold ATI card (Radeon 7500), but it was really noticeable
that my display was extremelly slow after installing the Catalyst 4.10.

I had to rollback to my old drivers...
