I am considering using a NAS device for backup to alleviate "sleep" related
issues with OneCare. One question that I need answered before I can really
consider it is how to restore a complete PC Backup to a network device. Is
there an option in the restore when booting from the CD for connecting to a
network device ? I have use the restore functionality a few time and think
it's a great feature. I just want to know if I am going to be able to fully
utilize the NAS device for backup and restore.

Hi Adam,

in the released version of Windows Vista, Complete PC Backup and Restore
do not work with network locations (mainly due to the underlying
technologies limitations, such as VSS). However, the restore part of
Complete PC is also used to restore Windows Server 08 backups that can be
stored in a network location. In this sense, once WS08 is released there
should be a way for you to get a version of Windows RE where Complete PC
Restore can access your backups on the network.
