compile error

I am running excel 2000 on windows 2000 professional. When I open excel I
get the following message.

Compile error in hidden module: AutoExecNew

I click ok and excel then opens.

When I close excel I get the following error message.

Compile error in hidden module: DistMon

I click ok and excel then closes.

I can't figure out what is going on. Any help would be appreciated.
