Compile CF V1 to V2

I think it's neccessary for you to create a new project in VS.NET 2005
under Smart Device --> PPC 2003 ("A project for creating a .NET Compact
Framework 2.0 forms application for Pocket PC 2003 and later"). Then
copy all your classes to the created directory, include them in the
project, reference the corresponding DLLs and try to compile! And Good
luck of course!

Hope that helps.

Regards.

No. You need VS 2005 STD or above or you could use free SDK and compile at
command line.

Best regards,

Ilya

I think that's correct, but let me verify one possibility. I'll try to get
back to you tomorrow.

What makes you draw that concusion? Why should it be backward compatible in
the first place? No one ever said it would be. Are you expecting Generics
to work in Studio 2003 too? I suppose XP should run all your native 16-bit
DOS apps that use direct hardware access too. At some point you have to
move forward.

And since you seem to have such a positive attitude, if I find a way to
compile CF 2.0 stuff without Studio 2005, you've now guaranteed I won't
directly be letting you know about it. Happy hunting.

Hi Chris, you should not unhappy at the first place because i am not pointing
the problem to you but only Microsoft.. Is it Microsoft your company by the
way... Actually I have just bought VS2003 not long ago and now CF2 came out
but i can't do nothing with it and i don't entitle any special offer on
upgrading to 2005.. So is it a waste of money buying the product for just a
few months and now i need to buy 2005 in order to compile to a new set of
framework...
